Doctor Nnamdi Nwaogwugwu M.D. pronounced
(woe-gu-gu) is a Board Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Physician. The Physiatric Pain and Medical Rehabilitation Clinic (PPMRC)
specializes in the evaluation and treatment of non-operative musculoskeletal
pain, sports injuries, workers compensation, and injuries related to motor vehicle
collisions. PPMRC is uniquely qualified and capable of developing a patient
specific, detailed treatment plan to limit pain, and disability while
improving the patient’s quality of life.
Doctor Nwaogwugwu has had extensive training
performing and interpreting Nerve Conduction Studies/Needle EMG'S. He performs
consultations to assist other physicians with complex
medical cases by electro physiologically ruling in or
out cervical and lumbar radiculopathies, myopathies, plexopathies,
peripheral neuropathies, ulnar and median neuropathies.
Dr. Nwaogwugwu is Board Certified Physiatrist
and a Fellow with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation (AAPMR), a member of the Orange County Medical Society (OCMS), and
Florida Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FSPMR). He maintains hospital
privileges at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) and Florida Hospital.
Dr. Nwaogwugwu is a former student-athlete,
earning a bachelor's degree from Quincy University while on a basketball
scholarship. While at Quincy University he majored in Biology with a
minor in Chemistry. He would attend The Chicago Medical School and in his
senior year be a Dean's Award recipient winner. He completed his
Internal Medicine residency program at Evanston Hospital (Northwestern
University Affiliate). He completed his Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation residency program at the Prestigious Mayo Clinic,
located in Rochester Minnesota.
In 2002, Dr. Nwaogwugwu founded the
Physiatric Pain and Medical Rehabilitation Clinic (PPMRC). PPMRC'S mission is
to provide comprehensive, compassionate, medically necessary and cost effective
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services to all injured patients and
workers. Our comprehensive treatment plan will consist of medically
supervised rehabilitation consisting of moist heat, electrical stimulation,
ultrasound, hydro bed treatments, various massage techniques to limit pain and
suffering under the care of a license therapist and supervised by doctor
Nwaogwugwu. The patient's will also be provided passive-active range
of motion exercises and gentle joint specific stretching and strengthening program
to increase flexibility , range of motion while improving
patients strength, conditioning and decreasing pain.
Periodic medical follow ups do occur with
the treatment team and modifications (including trigger point injections)
to patients care are continually made to ensure quality and excellent
results.
